ADHD evaluations

ADHD evaluations

Effectively managing Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) begins with a thorough evaluation, which leads to a personalized, multi-faceted care plan. This evaluation includes a comprehensive assessment of your child’s health and daily functioning.

  • Overall Health Evaluation: We review your child’s medical history, medications, sleep, and diet to rule out other conditions – such as sleep disorders or thyroid issues – that can mimic ADHD symptoms.

  • Standardized Testing: We use clinically validated scales and checklists, completed by parents, teachers, and your child, to measure how often and how severely symptoms appear in different settings.

  • School/Work Performance Review: We examine academic records, report cards, and work feedback to understand how ADHD affects areas like organization and task completion, helping guide personalized treatment options.

A personalized management plan will be developed to address ADHD symptoms and support daily functioning at home and school. Interventions may include behavior modification strategies, academic accommodations, and, if appropriate, medications. ADHD evaluations are included with DPC membership and are also available to nonmembers.
